Consider Safe and Minimally Invasive Dental Laser Therapy for a Healthy Smile

What comes to your mind when you think about lasers? Perhaps you conjure a picture of powerful cutting tools or space battles. While this may be true, you may not be aware that lasers have taken dentistry by storm. Laser dentistry has become a powerful tool in dentistry and is used in many restorative and cosmetic procedures, including periodontal care, teeth whitening, gum contouring, and more.

Want to see what laser therapy can do for your smile in Battle Creek, Michigan? Earl E. Gaball, DDS, is happy to introduce this revolutionary procedure to our eligible patients. Dr. Earl Gaball can build healthier, beautiful smiles in a less invasive way using laser therapy.

How Laser Dentistry Works

Laser technology works by delivering energy in the form of light. In dentistry, lasers are used to cut or vaporize tissue it comes into contact with.

Dental lasers are versatile enough to address issues in both hard and soft tissues.

Laser Therapy for Periodontal Disease

Traditionally, gum infection has always been treated using dental scaling and root planing. These procedures scrape beneath and above the gum line and smooth your roots to eliminate gum disease. Another approach is gum flap surgery, where the gingival tissue is incised and pulled back to properly clean the roots. Afterward, the gums are sutured back to kick start the healing process.

While these procedures work, laser dentistry offers a minimally invasive and painless alternative. Dr. Gaball uses a pen-like device to accurately remove the diseased tissue while leaving healthy tissues intact. The conservative nature of laser therapy promotes faster gum tissue healing.
